How To Start Your New Rep Properly
You are super excited, you have a brand new rep. so you want to make sure that you know How To Start Your New Rep Properly. The steps you decide to take once you have your new rep can make a difference in not only their success but yours as well.
I want to first say congratulations on bringing someone new into the network marketing world. This is the greatest profession in the world that you can bring someone into. Now that you have brought them into this amazing profession there are a couple things you want to make sure that you do with your new rep.
1.) The very first thing you should find out from your new rep is their expectations and what it is they actually want from their new business. If you do not find out these things it is going to be very difficult for you to help this new rep and it can also create problems that can be easily avoided if you get this information up front when the rep signs up.
See you need to know what their expectations are for their new business. If you do not know this then it can be a very big problem. I just was chatting with someone on twitter today and the comment was made that so many are coming into the industry thinking that they can get on the internet and be able to retire in a month. Now let’s be realistic here, that is not going to happen even for a best of the best. This is a business and it takes work, and as the person who recruited this new rep, it is your responsibility to find out their expectations. Are they expecting to make $5,000 their first month and they are only willing to put in 30 minutes a week? That can be a major problem. If they do not hit that, because realistically they will not, then they are going to be disappointed and they are going to come to you and maybe even blame you for something you did not even know.
2.) What is it that your new rep really wants from their business? A lot of times if you are an alpha leader of someone who is super goal oriented then you may think everyone is just like you if they get into the business. You think that everyone wants to reach the top rank, that everyone wants to be up on stage telling their story, and everyone wants to build a huge international team, make tons of money, have the big fancy homes, the Mercedes in the driveway and so forth. The fact is, not everyone want that. Many people if you start talking about how you and them are going to really rock this business and get up on stage, you will absolutely stress them out. They have NO desire to be on any stage. They may be perfectly happy making an extra $500 per month.
3.) Once you have determined your new reps expectations, and income goals then you can make a realistic course of action for this rep. One of the things which should be in anyone’s course of action even your new customers is to encourage them to attend your company events. Yes, this is a very big deal. Always remember that big decisions are made at big events, and people that were not really that fired up about their business came out on fire after attending a the companies big event. See so often it takes them being around others and hearing it from others for the belief to build within them. If you try and force that pressure, like the amount of belief that is built at an event, you will come across as pushy. You want to be extremely careful here, let the events do the work. They are just another tool you have available.
I think we have all experienced in our life hearing something from someone and it did not really register, but then we hear the same thing from someone else and it is like the light bulb goes off. That is how events can work for your new rep as well as your customers.
