“MLM Recruiting: How To Handle Voice Mail Properly When You Are Following Up”
If you are wanting to guarantee better results with your MLM Recruiting efforts then one of the biggest skills you want to make sure you master is the follow-up. This is a skill that if you take the time and master it properly you will see your results improve. If you think that you will just wing it and not handle it properly then I would say look at your current results with how you are currently handling your follow-ups and if they are not what you want them to be then this is an area you want to work on and this post may definitely make a difference in your results.
Ask yourself this question: What good does it do to get someones contact information if I do not really know how to follow-up with that prospect properly?
MLM Recruiting: Following-Up
So we have gotten the contact information from a prospect and set up and confirmed when we would be calling them. We even confirmed the time with the prospect 3 times. We have done everything correctly to this point.
So the scheduled time comes and we telephone the prospect and they do not answer, we get their voice mail. I believe we have all experienced this. The key is how we handle this situation because this will play a big role in what type of results we get. In network marketing one of the major points is that you always want to be professional and handle all contacts in a professional manner.
How I handle follow-ups now is far more effective than how I use to handle them. When I first started in my business I would call, leave a simple message and tell them I would call them again later. Not the proper way to nor the professional way to handle a follow-up. And of course none of them ever called me back.
Have you ever followed-up with a prospect and gotten their voice mail, left a message and they never called you back?
Have you wondered if you should call them again or would that make you look desperate, or a pest?
If you decide to call back, should you mention your last call or do you just simply act like it never happened?
What should you do if they ignore your second call?
MLM Recruiting: Proper Follow-Up
So how often should you call, and what should you say? I am going to share with you what after trying different approaches that I have found to work best. This works very well also on text messages.
When you have a set time that you and the prospect have agreed upon and you call at that time, If you get a voicemail, simply say. “Hey, this is __________, we had a scheduled call at this time, call me back when you get a chance at xxx-xxx-xxxx.”
If you do not hear back within 24 hours then call them back and if you still go to voicemail simply say, “Hey, this ______, again, left you a message yesterday, not sure if you got it, I hope you are OK, call me when you get a chance at xxx-xxx-xxxx.”
If you still do not hear back, wait 48 hours after your second voicemail and say this, “Hey, this is ______ again, I have left you two voicemails and have not heard back, I am going to assume that what we talked about is not a fit for you and that is totally ok, I will not be calling you back about this and I will mark you off the list, I wish you the very best that life has to offer, take care.”
Now the third voicemail is where you will get the most callbacks because people HATE being marked off of a list and called out for being very unprofessional. By handling your follow-ups this way you are displaying to your prospect with each message that you handle your business in a very professional manner.
