Today I want to help you Learn To Overcome The Fear Of Rejection in your business. This fear can keep you from progressing to the goals you are reaching for. Your business basically can be stagnet if you do not learn how to overcome these fears.
I sincerely believe that everyone suffers the fear of rejection, or at least they do until they learn to overcome this fear.
I am going to be very frank with you today, that is the only way I know how to honestly get this point across. Hopefully you are ready and it might even toughen you up enough that you do overcome the fear of rejection.
I have always been somewhat of a shy person, introvert per say. So my first venture into network marketing definitely was not something to write about. I knew that the model had to work, and I knew I wanted to be successful, so I had to figure out how to do that. I knew it could be done, I saw people at events who were successful.
I had a previous sales job that I was very successful in. I was the number one sales person in the U.S. in that company, but I never felt like I was a salesperson. See we had a phone room who set appointments for us, my job was to close them. Offer them what they were looking for. So why was I struggling in network marketing?
One thing I do know. The highest paid profession in the world is actually sales. Now honestly I do not feel like I am a sales person still. Just like when I was number one in the U.S. I did not feel like a sales person, I helped people plan for their future with putting money into a tax deferred savings account for retirement. When I look back now, it may of not been the best decision for them, but then it may have been, I can not say for certain, everyone’s situation is different.
What I do know is in my opinion, people need to have options, we never know what tomorrow can bring. It can make life so much easier, if you plan ahead and have a what I call a plan B in place.
I look at my business as providing people with options for their future. I feel even the product my business offers, is a great option for people to save money, but have amazing life experiences, that otherwise they may not be able to afford, but even if they could it saves them a lot of money. So if you want to call it sales, then that is fine, I work every day at getting better at it.
So the fact is even though we do not always want to admit it or not we are in Sales. We are either selling our products, or ourselves. So we all need to get really good at sales. The better we get at sales, the more people we can impact and the more money we will make.
You can call it sales, or you can choose to call it something else. I call it helping people, who otherwise may never have options to change their financial future.
To Become Good At Sales Is To Be Open To LEARNING TO OVERCOME THE FEAR OF REJECTION
Overcoming fear of rejection is instrumental in succeeding in your business. Remember sales is only part of what we do, but that is basically where our income generates from. Learn to remove the word rejection from your vocabulary. Honestly, people are not rejecting you personally, they are simply saying No to the idea which you are offering them. They do not see the value in what we are offering them at the time.
Think of it like this. You go to the store for cookies. You decide to buy chocolate chip cookies because that happens to be your favorite, and at the time that is exactly what you wanted. Now the store has done a great job of displaying all varieties of cookies for you to choose from. It does not mean that you rejected all the other cookies. It simply means that on this particular occassion you wanted chocolate chip cookies.
I now challenge you to remove the word Rejection completely from your vocabulary.
We each make the decision how we view things, and personally I refuse to feel rejected. I am working through the numbers. I do not want to try and convince anyone, I am looking for the ones who are open to my opportunity, and if they are not, I move to the next one. It does not mean they are rejecting me, they are simply not in a place where my opportunity or product fits their desires at the current time.
The Very Best Way To Overcome The Fear Of Rejection
One of the best way I found to overcome the fear of rejection is understanding your WHY. I do not mean simply having a why, what I am saying is truly understanding why you are doing the business, then dig even deeper with it, for example: Let’s say your why is to buy a new home. Then why do you want to buy a new home, why is a new home important to you, dig down 3, 4, 5 layers into your Why and then embrace the feeling you get when you truly understand your WHY. Get emotionally attached to that WHY let it be a inspiration to you, create your Vision from that why. Put little notes where you will see them daily of this.
Trust me this will help you and inspire you not to care about the NO’s, remember they are not saying NO to you it is the opportunity or product. There are so many people looking for a better way in this world, and you will find the right ones if you get over being sabatoged by rejection and let your WHY be your strength.
Another little tip is you can also put a dollar value on the people you talk to. From a webinar I was on, which had some top network marketers on it. They stated that they closed about 10% of the people who they spoke with. So here is how they broke it down, 100 people, 10% said NO, 10% said YES and the other 80% they did not get a yes or no from. So if they for example purposes, from the above numbers, you make $100 off of each sign up, and you talked to 100 people, each person you spoke with was worth $10.
From the above example you can see, it is important to work through the numbers in a speedy fashion. Imagine getting $10 for every person you spoke to about your business. Would you worry about the ones who say NO? Absolutely not.
Go out today and see how many $10 you can collect, it might surprise you.
I told you I was going to be real and honest with you, and this may sting a little,but here goes. The top earners have a VISION that is way bigger than any fear of rejection. People who allow Fear of rejection to disrail them from their dreams are way to comfortable.
What if you knew that in 30 days you and your family would be homeless if you do not make your home business work. Would you worry about rejection then? I seriously doubt it. Would you treat your business any differently?
Have you ever seen a homeless person begging for food or money. I am sure we all have. See that person is at a point in their life where rejection does not bother them. There life is dependent on them begging so that they can eat.
To put it quite bluntly, they are far stronger than a lot of us. As we sit in our homes, nice and warm, food in the fridge, clean clothing on our backs, and we are afraid to call our friends and share this amazing opportunity with them? Really!!
Let’s really put things in prospective here. What if you Don’t build your business, what if you let your fear of rejection sabatoge you of your dreams?
I am challenging you to Write down on paper your answer to the above question. Does it really PISS you off? If it doesn’t keep going deeper, until you truly find what makes you boil inside if you do not accomplish it. This can be really powerful. It is going to help you overcome the fear of rejection if you take it serious and do it.
